Doug was asked to teach the youth S.S. class. Actually the one they had sort of fizzled out. The young people had stopped coming. They were in need of a teacher. Doug already had a passion to work with the young people. And....what better way to accomplish one of our main goals - leadership training. Better to start now before they make their decisions for their course of life. The class consists of young men between the ages of 14 and 20, and one girl. Doug faithfully goes out each Saturday inviting the young people to S.S.
He is using the curriculum Firm Foundations produced, I believe, by New Tribes Mission. It is good stuff! It gives a very clear foundation of God, Satan, the fall, sin, the holiness of God etc. The young people seem to be enjoying it and we are excited how they are soaking it in. We hope it will yield results for the Kingdom when the curriculum climaxes with a personal application to life - approximately one year from now.
