We are still searching for another place to live. We are currently in the mission building in a small apartment. The 3 oldest children are in one small bedroom (Ryan sleeps on the floor) and Jonathan is in ours. We are anxious to find a place, but our search continues. We just haven't found the right house for the right price.
We found a gated community that we really like. It is surrounded by a wall and guarded by men with guns. It would be really safe for us to live there and the children could play outside without fear. However, the houses we've seen so far available to rent didn't really suit our needs. The one had a tarantula in the bathroom (we should have snapped a picture, but didn't think of it), and the yard wouldn't have given the children very much place to play. We continue to wait, look, and pray. Maybe God has something else in mind. He knows.
Renting a place is very different here. You have to come up with 4 months rent up front: one being the first month's rent, 2 months as a deposit, and one month for commission to the lawyer and real estate agent. Pretty costly. We may have to save a few months anyway in order to rent somewhere.
